After paying $2,642.56 for repairs, I did not receive a detailed invoice explaining the diagnosis, parts, labor, or total cost. Shortly afterward, my vehicle experienced serious problems, including fluid leaks, overheating, and engine failure. I also had concerns about unclear business-name identification, communication, repair quality, and follow-up service. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this shop. Consumers considering major repairs there should proceed cautiously and get all estimates, diagnoses, invoices, warranties, and the exact responsible business name in writing before approving work. Consumer Advice Do not rely only on verbal explanations for major repairs. Ask for written documentation before work begins and keep copies of everything. Get a written estimate and diagnosis. Request a detailed invoice showing parts, labor, and total cost. Confirm the exact business name responsible for the repair. Document any problems immediately after service.

I had a great experience with Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care. They did a great job diagnosing and fixing my car emission problem. The front-end desk staff was especially helpful. She explained everything clearly before the work started and reviewed the repairs once the job was complete. I would highly recommend them.

I’m glad someone sent me this review I went to your Waldorf location there to have my car checked for an issue I was having with my transmission the guy drove my car around the block basically then I was glad to find out nothing was wrong however I was charged $80.00 I didn’t appreciate being charged only because I wasn’t told anything prior to having him check the car out there’s no signs saying anything about being charged for estimates the explanation was that AAMCO which is right down the street doesn’t charge you for estimates but they include it in the final payment that didn’t sit well with me I feel like I was hustled then on top of that the woman working the front desk told me she would call me when another part I asked about would arrive there I’m still waiting on her call smh Cottman’s hopefully the side hustle stops it’s making your company look bad Sincerely Tim Patterson

Words cannot fully do justice to the amazing service I received here. My family and I were traveling from North Carolina when our car began to overheat in Maryland during Memorial Day weekend, leaving us completely stranded. This happened just one week after Firestone misdiagnosed the vehicle and charged me for an unnecessary repair. After stopping at a third Firestone location in Maryland, they finally found a leaking heater hose but told me they could not fix it there. I found Cottman Transmission online and chose them based on their great reviews and mentions of Valerie. I am so glad I did! They took my car in right away, confirmed the heater hose issue, and ordered the parts. Valerie kept me completely in the loop with phone updates, photos, and videos of the damage. They got us back on the road safely. If you need honest auto care, take your car to Cottman!
