Great Service! The owner, Mr. Ken Barker has assembled the finest auto repair facility ever, with the dual franchises of NAPA Auto Care/Cottman Transmission and driveline center. He has staffed it with technicians who all have multiple ASE certifications. I continue a 25 year business relationship with this shop, even though I now live 100 miles far.

EXCELLENT SERVICE! I was in need of a new transmission, I received several estimates, and the estimate I received from Cottman was the lowest estimate I received. The work was performed quickly and they kept me updated on the progress of the work. I would definitely recommend them to anyone I know, and as a matter of fact, the fixed my brakes about 8 months prior to my transmission and I am going to them again to have my throttle body replaced.

Cottman's service has been great! I needed help with a few things extra and these guys went above and beyond what they should have to help out a customer like myself in need. Not to mention, the quality of work they provided me was excellent. They are true professionals who went over every detail that was necessary in order to perform the repairs that I needed which I truly appreciate as should anyone when it comes to car repairs. I highly recommend them and will return for anything from new tires and oil changes to any more major repairs as they may arise. Cottman mechanics are very knowledgeable and always seem to detect the exact thing wrong with my car. I recommend anyone to come here as I have been going here now for the past few years and have never left unsatisfied. After having bad experiences at other car shops and always feeling like I was getting ripped off, Cottman has renewed my faith in car shops once again!

My experience started off good or at least I thought. I had to have my car towed there because it would not stay started long enough to make it to any shop. This shop was recommended by another auto place with the hopes that they would charge fairly and fix any transmission related issues. I was even told to state that they sent me there to ensure fair pricing. “Bill” was my service rep; he was whom I spoke with regarding the car and my situation. I was told by Bill my total bill was $2200.00 with the explanation that my car had a lot of small things wrong however; the work would have my car working and able to pass emissions. Once the work was completed and the bill paid in full. I sat down and looked over the itemized bill and to my surprise I realized I was grossly overcharged on pretty much everything they did. I could have gotten my car done at the same price or less at the dealership with coupons. I picked my car up on a Saturday and by Monday the check imagine light was on. I took my car to another auto shop and basically and it was confirmed that: 1. I was indeed grossly overcharged. 2. I now have to pay an additional $600.00 in repairs to get my car in shape to pass emissions. So, if you want to overpay for your car being fix then Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care is the place to go. Example of the charges: Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care charged me for brake work labor $366 and that price did not include the brakes they charged me about over $200.00 for the brakes along. I ended up paying nearly $600 for brakes along. I was never told I was paying that much for brakes, the explanations of the total bill was that I had a lot of things wrong which I contribute to the transmission since that is why I took it there in the beginning. But sometimes people see you in a vulnerable place and take full advantage. Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care overcharge me and that is bad business.

They went above and beyond on repairing our vehicle. My husband broke down and had his car towed to the repair shop. They were very accommodating and put in the extra effort to repair his car quickly and correctly. There was a lot wrong with my husband's car. The price was also very fair. This is a very honest mechanic shop. I would definitely recommend this mechanic shop to other people.

I had a problem with my car, and Tammy at Cottman was just the person I needed to speak to about the car, and problem. The folks at Cottman fixed the car in short time, and gave me a great warranty. I promised them I would pass the word on!!!!!!!

Cottman Transmission & Total Auto Care really saved me! I had traveled to Waldorf for a few days to visit with family and attend a charity function. On the trip down, my muffler system blew up and I barely made it to Waldorf. I took my car into Cottman's neighbor as my corporate offices have a 'discount' program with them. After the long Memorial Day weekend was over, I received a call that my car was fixed are ready to go. I drove the 1.5 hours back to Waldorf, paid my $1400 bill and returned my rental car. I didn't get back to the other mechanic till after 6 PM, their closing time. My car was in worse shape than before and would not run safely. I saw Henry and the owner of the Waldorf Cottman chatting outside of their garage, so I pulled in. Even though it was past their closing time, they recognized the dire straights I was in and Henry stayed till almost 7:30 PM and got me running again! The entire time, he was friendly and professional (even offered me a bottle of water while I waited) and explained everything that was wrong and what needed to happen. I wish that I lived in Waldorf because this would be where I would take my personal and work vehicles to be repaired! They were the best. Thank you so much for being my personal savior that day!
